I was getting my hair done this morning with Kelsey at Parlor Hair Boutique and I was thinking how lucky we are to have such a great salon in Victoria. The Boutique is totally chic with white brick walls, huge windows that give lots of natural light combined with cool plank wood floors – really creative, beautiful decor. However, this doesn’t surprise me because the salon is made up of a group of beautiful, talented, and super stylish ladies. I always look forward to my relaxing pampered experience with lots of laughs. Here is a little before and after.

A little more about Kelsey DeFrias – Kelsey is a co-founder of Parlor Hair Boutique and has been in the hair industry for 12 years. Kelsey joined the L’Oreal Professionnel family six years ago as an artistic educator and has been part of the well-regarded artistic portfolio team for nearly two years. Kelsey has had the opportunity to train under some of Canada’s most respected stylists and has been fully trained in both the creative and technical academy programs with L’Oreal Professionnel. Her attention to detail and dedication to perfection allows her to be skilled in both the classic and creative cuts, with a personal love of up-styling and dresswork.

I look to teaching as a sharing of knowledge and experience. We can all learn so much from eachother if we are open to the opportunity and experience. Some of Kelsey’s career achievements include representing Team Canada at the 2008 Hair World competition, being a finalist in L’Oreal Professionnel’s runway style competition, being a two-time regional gold winner in L’Oreal Professionnel’s Color Trophy competition, as well as being a finalist and semi-finalist in several national competitions.

Kelsey believes that being a hairstylist is more than just a career; it is a passion that drives her to challenge herself and continually advance her skills and education. She is excited to make Parlor Hair Boutique a place where she can share that with others.

The Boutique Salon – Parlor Hair Salon is tucked away in the heart of the Design District in old Victoria. On a downtown block, filled with natural light, cozy vintage feel, and a dash of Parisian flair. Our décor is in the French style, with beautiful details on furniture, boutique style in warn golds and whites. A feeling of space is accented by high ceilings, and bathed in light from the large heritage windows.
