8 Steps To The Ultimate Relaxing Bath

Everyone’s anxiety and stress is very high right now with the spread of COVID-19. Having to stay home and social distance is extremely difficult especially for those of us who are extroverts. I try to take a few moments at the end of the day to relax and be grateful for my health, my family and my home. A warm bath helps relax tensed nerves and makes me happier at the end of my day. I like to imagine my bathroom is a private spa.

1. Gather all your essentials

Find a nice bath soap, a book or your favorite magazine, some candles, essential oils for your relaxing bath. Transform your bath into a decadent moisture bath with foaming bubbles. Right now I am using Beautycounter body oil, lemongrass scrub and a drop of body wash for bubbles – smells amazing.

2.  Add A Scented Oil

Add some scented oil when your bath is halfway full. Lavender or rose oil are great choices because of the relaxing effect. I’m using @doterra serenity and also love Lavender.

3. Right temperature

Dim the lights and make sure your bath is the right temperature. A warm bath is best for me to relax. I always make sure to add in some cold water near the end of my bath to invigorate myself before getting out. Nobody wants to get dizzy.

4. Put on relaxing music and light a few candles

Spotify has some great relaxing playlists. It depends on your mood, but try to find something relaxing, calm, and positive. Light a few candles and place them close to the tub. I love these beautiful candles with funny sayings from Five Fields Decor & Design.

5. Bring some snacks

I always love to bring a cup of peppermint tea with me and a large glass of water. I also like fruit and chips. Weird but true.  Whatever you like, it’s your special time. Place it within easy reach, but far enough away that it will not fall in the bathtub. Soggy chips are yucky.

6. Put on a face mask and tie your hair up

Tie your hair up and put on a face mask. A face mask can be very relaxing when used while you’re taking a bath. Beautycounter charcoal mask is my fave as it not only feels fantastic but it is a treatment for your skin. Amazing exfoliation and wonderful to treat breakouts. The best bath ties are bella buddha beads scrunchies from A La Mode Consignment.

7. Fluffy towel and bathrobe

Use some fluffy towels that make you feel warm and comfortable. You can even warm your towel and I always make sure my pj’s are already in the bathroom. I have the best robe from Mii amo spa in Sedona that is like a treatment in itself.

8. Enjoy your bath!

Relax, read a book, and forget everything for a few minutes. Breathe and take some mindful moments to chat positively to yourself. Best therapy EVER!!!
