Across Vancouver Island, a powerful movement is bringing women together—not just in support, but in action. WOMEN GOING BEYOND continues to inspire a community of changemakers dedicated to advancing women’s cancer research and improving access to life-saving treatments.

Launched in collaboration with the BC Cancer Foundation, this initiative has already raised over $1.5 million in the past five years—fueling innovation, hope, and real progress in women’s cancer care.

The Heart Behind the Movement

At the center of WOMEN GOING BEYOND is a story of vision and collaboration. Devon, the founder, brought this initiative to life with a mission to create meaningful impact for women facing cancer. In its second year, Rebecca of Hughes Clothing joined the movement—and together, they introduced a fashion show that has since become a signature event of the campaign.

What started as a shared vision has grown into a powerful annual experience where purpose meets style.

Fashion with a Purpose

The annual fashion show is more than just a runway—it’s a celebration of confidence, resilience, and community.

  • Fashions are curated by Hughes Clothing, bringing timeless, elevated style to the stage.
  • Shoes and designer bags are provided by Turnabout Luxury Resale, adding a layer of luxury through thoughtfully curated pre-loved pieces.

Founded in 1978, Turnabout has built a legacy of making high-quality, luxury and contemporary fashion more accessible through resale. With a strong focus on community and sustainability, they are more than just a fashion destination—they are a brand that believes in giving pieces a second life while making style attainable. Their contribution to the show adds depth, intention, and a story behind every accessory seen on the runway.

A Community That Gives Back

This year’s campaign is further elevated by the support of Magnolia Hotel & Spa, led by Nicole Roberts. As a matching sponsor, the hotel is doubling the impact of donations—amplifying the community’s generosity and accelerating funding for critical research.

Their involvement reflects a shared commitment to care, connection, and meaningful change—values that define WOMEN GOING BEYOND.

The Cause: Advancing Breast Cancer Research

In 2026, the campaign aims to raise $500,000 to support two groundbreaking clinical trials at BC Cancer Victoria:

  • Rapid 2 Trial – Exploring whether partial breast irradiation can be as effective as full breast radiation, with fewer cosmetic side effects.
  • MA.29 Trial – Studying whether some patients can safely avoid additional months of immunotherapy, reducing both treatment time and side effects.

These trials represent a future where treatment is not only effective—but more thoughtful, personalized, and less invasive.

Join the Movement

From March 1 to April 30, 2026, the community is invited to come together—whether by attending, donating, or spreading awareness.

  • Campaign Launch at LIV Café & Bistro
  • Fluevog Shoes Fundraiser at Fluevog Shoes
  • 4th Annual Hughes Clothing Fashion Show at Union Club

Every moment, every connection, and every contribution helps bring life beyond cancer closer to reality.
